- Verify every citation actually exists and says what you claim — independent models won’t invent a reference the way a single one will.

- Surface the methodological hole — selection bias, p-hacking risk, missing control — before submission.

- Have a skeptic challenge the framing so the contribution claim survives a hostile read.
